Have you noticed that Grief has his own door key?
He lets himself in without a by-your-leave and sits there quietly in a dark corner ready to embrace you when you're least expecting it.
There is no specified time for Grief, he is always available and willing to invade your heart and mind, to awaken happy memories, the better to underline that they are well and truly past, that those who shared those times with you are gone forever.
Grief is sometimes 'kind' in that his stay is short, he frees you to enjoy other moments of your present, until his next unannounced visit.
Sometimes Grief is overwhelming and like any unwelcome visitor stays too long, so that when he finally let's you go and leaves, you are washed out and shaken and it takes a while, sometimes many days, to recover.
The oceans are full of the tears shed when Grief came calling.

You know Stardust ... when described and presented in such a poetic, thoughtful way, grief doesn't seem such a bad thing at all. [Only admins are allowed to see this image]

Grief is shown in many ways.
Anger, that we have lost a loved one. Anger at why they left us?
Frustration as to why we had to lose this loved one. Why?
Depression. That they are not with us any longer.

Then belief,we will see them again.

I lost my husband in 2006 to cancer and still wonder why he is not at my side.
