This video contains a question and answer period (1 hour) and then a 40 minute demonstration of mental mediumship. After the medium responds to questions about the afterlife, ET’s, reincarnation, and other spiritual themes, Carolyn Molnar demonstrates mental mediumship.

This is a lovely video. I really enjoyed it [Only admins are allowed to see this image] and learned lots. Some things I wasn't too sure of before, the video answered a lot of questions for me. [Only admins are allowed to see this image]

Glad you enjoyed it, Misty. I did too. I've not heard of the medium, Carolyn Molnar before but all of the things she spoke of there and the answers she gave to the questions asked of her - do completely tally with my own experiences and discoveries where mediumship is concerned.

She even mentioned two of my favourite films - 'Ghost' and 'The Others', and she said how she felt they really "got it right" with 'Ghost' - except for the bit about the 'black demon things' coming for the baddies when they pass - which of course is pure Hollywood, fitted in to make the film. That's exactly what I've always said too.

I have heard before about the research work that Donna Moncrieffe is doing. I think she's doing a fine job in that connection, worthy of a thread in its own right. Will probably start something up.

Speaking of films, have you watched 'What Dream May Come' and, if so, what were your reactions?

The late Robin Williams in a serious role, based on the book with the same title. Quite old now and it's been on telly at least once as I recorded it; I have the DVD too but not at home. Worth a look if you can get it for free or cheaply.

Now that Robin Williams has passed, they will probably have a run of his films on TV, so there's a chance to catch it then. Meanwhile, I will have a look round to see if it's available online anywhere.

I finally got to watch the film this morning. Just as well I didn't go to see it in the Cinema because I would have made a right eejit of myself - blubbing uncontrollably the whole way through (as well as laughing out loud at some of the classic one-liners laced throughout). I did enjoy the film - although if I had watched it, say, 10 years ago, I wouldn't have understood fully what it's all about. It's an ingenious depiction of (I suppose, what must be Richard Matheson's [the author of the book upon which the film was based] understanding of) what life is all about. It conveys certain messages and explanations which the individual viewer may or may not get, depending on their own circumstances - and depending, possibly, on the timing of when the film [or book] (and its messages) becomes available to them.

I found this rather poignant recent write-up in the Huff Post, talking about the film - and added to following the news of Robin Williams' passing:

Robin Williams' Most Spiritual Role: How 'What Dreams May Come' Offered A Glimpse Into The Afterlife

Hollywood lost one its great actors on Monday to an apparent suicide, leaving many stunned and saddened. Robin Williams was just 63 years old when he was found dead in his Bay Area apartment, police reported.

In addition to the brilliant comedic performances for which he is commonly known, Williams left a trail of subtle, dramatic roles in his wake, including the 1998 film, "What Dreams May Come."

In this highly spiritual movie that explores the concept of death and the afterlife, Williams' character, Chris Nielson, dies in a car accident four years after losing his two children. In the scene above, Neilson awakens to find himself in the afterlife, which is both beautiful and unexpected. In the afterlife he is reunited with his dog and at first confuses his surroundings for "dog heaven."

As he continues exploring the afterlife and coming to terms with his death, however, Nielson takes ownership of the situation. "Maybe I'm not in your heaven after all, girl," he says. "Maybe you're in mine."

Williams participated in a Reddit AMA in 2013 in which one questioner asked him about his role in the film. The reader asked:
I wept like an emotionally disturbed infant when I watched "What Dreams May Come." What was the most valuable thing you learned about your acting from that movie/what criticism stuck with you the most afterwards?

Williams responded: "That every moment in life is precious?"

He went on to discuss the film's ending in which (spoiler alert) the doctor and his wife choose to reincarnate and live out their lives together again. Williams said he favored an alternate ending that depicted reincarnation as a mandatory and natural cycle of life -- one which saves them from reliving their previous lives.

that the gifts of your relationships with others, don't miss it. That was one of the hardest movies I think I ever did in my whole career. Every day was literally hell, because of the nature of the subject matter, dealing with death and being in hell literally. When I watched the final movie, I felt it was extraordinarily beautiful but I felt disappointed by the ending. There was a different ending that they shot that I felt was much more true to the story. It was about reincarnation, basically, that they were going to meet again. The movie ended with two babies being born simultaneously, one in Bombay and one in the United States, and they held them up, and then the screen went to black. I don't know if it's anywhere.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Unlike most movies I have watched this one many times and I even enjoyed the 'backside' of the DVD which features the making of the film.

For the first several times I found aspects that I didn't fully appreciate first time of watching until it became so familiar that I could watch it just for enjoyment. Yes it was Hollywood and yes it was meant as a tear-jerker but underneath were important points that over my years 'in the spooks' have come up repeatedly as questions in other settings.

The DVD came into my possession by some curious coincidences and the person who gave it me said she didn't follow it. I thought I might one day be able to help her understand but that day never came. Yes it was Hollywood and yes it was meant as a tear-jerker but underneath were important points that over my years 'in the spooks' have come up repeatedly as questions in other settings.
