On self-honesty

On self-honesty

"No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself, and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true."
-- Nathaniel Hawthorne

"You cannot fake a relationship and feel right with yourself or anyone else. Changing yourself to fit what you think other people want doesn’t work. Pretending to be someone other than yourself only broadens the distance between the person you are and the one with whom you’re trying to establish closeness."
-- Mary Manin Morrissey

"Just as surely as distress must follow self-deceit, healing must follow self-honesty."

"Don't compromise yourself. You are all you've got."
-- Janis Joplin

The process is clear. First 'know yourself' - your personality and direction in life. Then 'create a plan'. Next 'heal yourself and what holds you back. Then you can expand and 'grow yourself'.

Who am I? Does anyone really know the answer to that question concerning themselves?

It's like when you look in the mirror and wonder who's looking back at you.

What a Face

A gentle whisper like the breeze sighing, so easy to miss, listen carefully...
