Strong winds combined with high tides, tempest Xynthia, Saturday evening, roared over France heading towards Denmark, leaving havoc behind and more than 50 people dead, not to mention countless livestock.

Ooh la la, I'm impressed, Candlelight.
Devastation is right. One farmer alone lost 600 sheep and now has only 4 left. He said when the water had risen quickly up to his knees, he went into his sheep enclosure and the hundreds of ewes all looked at him with pleading eyes, while the water was already over their backs and still rising. The poor man could do nothing to save them and had to leave, he couldn't bear to watch them drowning, especially with all their eyes turned towards him trusting that he'd come to get them out of the water.
Those lucky four only survived because he'd brought them up to Paris for the Agricultural Show.
The water in some parts was up to the roofs of the houses, so the people living there lost all their possessions, and some were drowned because they couldn't escape onto the roof.
As this happened very fast during the night many had no time to get dressed and had to wait hours on their roofs dressed only in pyjamas, shivering with cold and shock until a helicopter or boat arrived to take them to safety.
It's terrible for them, hard to imagine how long it will take them to get back a semblance of a home.

For me there's nothing like the sea and trees to resource after months of hard work.
I've just returned bright and refreshed from a trip to the Mediterranean where all my lethargic and dusty ideas were washed away and here I am energized and fresh as a new daisy.
