An oxymoron is a figure of speech in which opposite or contradictory ideas or terms are combined, such as:
Thunderous silence
Just wondered how many we could think of between us. I can add:
Pretty ugly
Exact estimate
That's all I can think of at the moment but they are quite common. I love it when someone on the radio comes out with one and doesn't realize what they've actually said.
