by Just heard the sad news this morning. My ex-boss and very good friend, Tom Coyne, passed away last night. He was 64, and had been in hospital for some 3 months.
I worked with Tom for many years in Willesden and then in Ealing when the firm of solicitors that we worked for moved offices there to merge with their Ealing branch. As Probate Manager for the firm, Tom helped so many people (in life and after their passing); much of his client base being elderly folk who came to him for help with preparing their Wills, and then managing their estates on their passing. He was widely respected and liked in the community, in particular the large Irish Catholic community in the surrounding areas (being of Irish descent himself). He had a special connection with his clients as individuals, something quite rare in that line of business - he understood how very daunting it could be for people having to deal with solicitors in preparing their Wills, the legalities involved, and many of whom were recently bereaved and having to go through the harrowing process of sorting out their recently departed loved one's funeral, estate, etc. He had a wonderful empathy with each and every one that came into contact with him. He will be sorely missed by many, not least by the colleagues that worked alongside him.
