An interview with Dr Gary Schwartz, who has recently re-named his laboratory ........
from (its original name) - Laboratory for advances in consciousness & health
to - Laboratory for advances in post-material sciences & spirituality

[Only admins are allowed to see this link]

Talking about his most recent Research into measuring the nature of light (with something called a 'silicon photomultiplier system'), post-death communication with "hypothesised co-investigator, Harry Houdini" (!) and some current research (yet to be revealed) involving direct telephone calls to and between deceased and living.

Dr Schwartz has published more than 450 scientific papers, including six papers in the journal SCIENCE, co-edited 11 academic books, and is the author of THE SACRED PROMISE: How Science Is Discovering Spirit's Collaboration with Us in Our Daily Lives (2011), THE ENERGY HEALING EXPERIMENTS (2007), THE G.O.D. EXPERIMENTS (2006), THE AFTERLIFE EXPERIMENTS (2002), THE TRUTH ABOUT MEDIUM (2005), and THE LIVING ENERGY UNIVERSITY (1999).

thanks - I thought it might be poor etiquette for me to post the address.

There are many interviews there, some of which I found fairly interesting although not offering anything new to anyone already familiar with the 'spooks' scene. Mavis Pitilla is interviewed on one of them.

I can't for the life of me find the bunch of podcasts I had so they may be on the computer that's in our holiday place. I've sent a request to the AfterlifeForums website owner asking where to find 'em online.

What I did find in the 'Download's tab on one computer are a number of other interviews and I'd totally forgotten about them. I'm just playing an interview with Colin Fry... Jeez - losing your memory when getting old sucks!

Well, that's just one of the wonders (and saving grace) of the computer - and internet land.
Great that things like this can be kept and stored for future reference - if only to refresh the failing memory from time to time. One of the reasons I always advocate strongly - that people, when having a reading from a medium, for instance, should always make use of the option, if available to them, to record that sitting. The memory can play tricks on people, even in the short term, i.e. having just left from that sitting. It can be quite a surprise to play back the recording on arriving home - to discover - well no, the medium didn't actually say such-and-such; it was my interpretation that brought that about - or, inadvertently, I may have 'fed' that info to the medium earlier on in the sitting, without realising.

I have heard from Roberta but what she gave me takes me to the website page I'd already checked out [Only admins are allowed to see this link]  If the interviews are to be found there I still have some searching to do and I might need to register - I'll have to check later.

I did a google search, looking for that interview with Mavis Pittilla. Couldn't find it - but I did come up with this:

(Interview with Mavis Pittilla, by Bob Olson - Afterlife TV)

[Only admins are allowed to see this link]

PS: I have seen Mavis Pittilla demonstrate, twice, (Open Days) at the Arthur Findlay College -
    and was quite impressed.

great detective work! Yes I reckon this is the audio podcast I recorded - I had no notion, or just not realised, it was originally a video of - clearly now - a Skype interview.

I haven't seen her but I was pretty impressed by what she said in this interview.

    well done, KK!

Well if it were Spiritualists doing it, I wouldn't understand it either.  But surely skeptics are destined to be frustrated, aren't they?  They're up against it even more than us Spiritualists - and that's saying something!   Mr. Green

Also worth noting that it is nearly always skeptics who expose mediums and not believers, kinda proves a point about gullibility etc

I don't have the statistics to judge if you're right.  I'm someone who never advocates being a believer although as we are all individuals each will do/be whatever suits her/himself anyway.

I know that you and he have history but up-to-press I've not had any fall-outs with him and his antics makes me smile.

He refuted it of course he did, but he never proved it wrong, afterall the VIDEO evidence that exposed him is pretty clear cut!

    Video at
[Only admins are allowed to see this link]

On Fox News on the Geraldo at Large show, October 6, 2007, Geraldo Rivera and other investigators accused Schwartz as a fraud and that he had overstepped his position as a university researcher by requesting over three million dollars from a bereaved father who had lost his son. Schwartz had claimed to have contacted the spirit of a 25-year-old man in the bathroom of his parents house and it is alleged he attempted to charge the family 3.5 million dollars for his mediumship services. Schwartz responded saying that the allegations were set up to destroy his science credibility.

Also worth noting that Geraldo was never sued to my knowledge, never retracted the piece, dont you think if you call someone a fraud on national tv that you would get sued if you were lying?

I guess if people are really interested in knowing the FULL story, together with ALL the FACTS of this matter, they will know where to look (if they really want to).
The true facts are out there.  Just a reminder of how important it is to cross-reference everything - not to rely on one single report/opinion/view.

This quote, extracted from here: [Only admins are allowed to see this link]
says it all ........   Rolling Eyes

one thing which is strikingly clear is that Dr. Schwartz is seeking redemption through the American court system, while the accusing parties are seeking redemption through the American kangaroo court system, aka the mustachioed, horn-blowing, Al Capone vault discovering, one-man band judge and jury.

The point is Gary Schwartz cannot talk to the dead, that is the one 100% fact we can all agree on.
The second fact that he has claimed to have found real psychics and throw tests "proven" their claims, is also a huge problem, his tests have been ripped apart and shown to be hugely flawed.

His work as a scientist has been ridiculed, so he tried to be a psychic himself, and failed miserably.

The man is a joke, has no respect in science, and no respect in spiritualism, other than the frauds he has claimed are real.

But since it's all hokum - according to you, Jon - why even bother to pick on this individual rather than all of us/them.  All of us are deluded, all misled, all gullible, all naive, aren't we?

Does it matter if someone screws us more than we're already totally-screwed anyway?

That is a fair argument although I prefer to attack those who commit the fraud as opposed to their victims.

The victims can be saved, the criminals can be exposed and sometimes prosecuted!
