Awww, poor Stardust. Do you think that , just maybe, your life's lesson is patience  Questionmark Ha! Ha!
Seriously though, I know it's very frustrating when that happens. If they'd not said the delivery date,
it wouldn't be so annoying. Promises, promises. Dare I ask if it has arrived yet??

Not grumpy today, exept I just had a phone call to say we'll be delivered on Wednesday - 4 weeks after the order - so much for their 48-hour delivery!!! [Only admins are allowed to see this image]
Plus, they've made out a second bill, which complicates things because there'll be two bills for one and the same order. I hope they sort it out. I'll believe the delivery when it's actually here!  Rolling Eyes

Typical, wait nearly a month, get a phone call yesterday to say I'll receive the delivery on Wednesday and... you've guessed it - they just delivered today. Just as well I hadn't popped out. Honestly, is it so hard to get at least one little thing right?
I bet they'd soon start moaning if we waited a month before paying their bill!  Rolling Eyes

Now now, Candlelight, jumping to the wrong conclusions and throwing veiled (hardly) accusations about me wasting work time.
If I must justify myself, I've been doing twelve hours a day or more for weeks, but only paid for 35 hours per week (and no other compensation), so yes I allow myself to look in, read and post on the forums now and then. I do need an occasional breather and since a lot of my work is done online the forums are all just a click away, especially if I stay logged-in to them. Yesterday was the first time for ages that I left without going once round the clock. (By the way, the time on my posts is actually two hours behind the actual time, so that was 7.35 PM yesterday when I posted - I'll check my profile and rectify that).

I hope you enjoyed your leisurely soak in the bath last evening, I bet you came out looking like a prune but nicely refreshed. very happy

Tried to get into Photobucket at least three times this morning but once on the page I can't log in or search images!
I've not been able to get onto the Enlightenment forum at all today.

Well I can get onto Enlightenment now.
But although I can get the Photobucket page I can't interact with it. sadface There are Disney fairies floating around it  confused so perhaps they've blocked the page. Has anyone else been able to access their Photobucket account today or even carry out an image search there?

lol Stardust, I think the fairies were having a private party at Casa Photobucket today. [Only admins are allowed to see this image] I tried too and they wouldn't let me in either.

So, I went to see me auld friend, Murphy, the wise ol' Leprechaun [Only admins are allowed to see this image]

"Oh Begorrah", says he, "Is it wantin' to be joinin' the fairy party yer after?" "Sure now, all they need from ye is a song...."

So, I sang a little song, an old favourite of mine ...
[Only admins are allowed to see this link]

"... and then", says he .... "you'll find the secret - to be sure to be sure"

and I did! and the secret is ...
[Only admins are allowed to see this image] Oh well, I guess they want their secret to be kept secret! .... Well, it went something like this

"If you see a fairy dance in a field of grass
    Very lightly step around her
    tip toe as you pass
Let her her sing her song right there
    or you'll break a fairy spell .."
    (something like that anyway) lol

Bit of a shock on my return home after a lovely weekend, to find that on Saturday night a hit 'n run car smashed into my car parked out on the road and a neighbour's parked on the other side of the road - both cars total write-offs.

As to the weekend, however, it certainly was a wonderful weekend in Doncaster meeting up with Elly, Bry, Feather, Lynne and Looby Lou. So lovely to meet with ye all. As Bry said, "it was meant that we all should meet". Elly and Bry, many thanks for your exceptional hospitality and for going out of your way in helping to make this weekend so special for all of us, and thank you to all for the lovely specially thought-out gifts.

    Not really grumpy.  very happy
But why don't they make wrapped strips of chewing gum any more?  sadface
Most seem to be round or oblong shapes these days, and there's no individual wrapper which was so handy for throwing out the old gum when fed up with it. If there's a waste bin then I use it, but sometimes there isn't one. Plus, unless you're walking around with bits of paper in your pocket or bag, in hot weather the gum will stick to your fingers and you'll look a right idiot trying to shake it off into the bin.  Rolling Eyes Embarassed
So what do you do with yours ?

    I never use the stuff.
I once engaged in conversation with a guy whose job was to rid the pavements of Oxford Street of the thousands of walked-in splodges of discarded chewing-gum. That was his sole resonsibility and he had a special machine (like a very powerful hoover) which sucked up the individual nasty substances one by one. A never-ending task that took up his working day. Next morning it was as though he had never been there and he would have to go through the whole process again.
I think that poor guy must have had the worst job in the whole wide world.  sadface

I always carry an extra tissue with me. I just tear a bit off it and wrap it round the gum.  Embarassed

Yes, Candlelight, I think the authorities spend as much money clearing gum off the pavements as cleaning tags off walls and bus seats. Tax payers money of course. Terrible isn't it?!

Feather, I have done that when there's no other option but it's a waste of a paper hankie because I don't like using a torn one (I have these little quirks, as you know).

Maybe I should buy a packet of cigarette papers, small enough to carry and just the right size to wrap used gum - am I brilliant or what? Hmm, how come I never thought of that idea before, it just came to me in a flash.  lol

Occasionally,i get the urge for chewing gum and i prefer the individually wrapped ones, tastier i think, and having the problem also of disposing the other type i don't buy those anymore. The last time i did buy the unwrapped variety , when i had finished with it , i stuck it on my dashboad of the car and forgot about it for a few days.It had slipped to my car floor and was a nightmare to get off-i never managed to get it all off.

I am a bit grumpy today,i sliced my thumb with a sharp piece of glass. It was the deepest and largest cut i've ever had,the blood was streaming down my elbow onto the floor.I had no plasters so borrowed one from next door-my other neighbour was coming out of his house at the same time, he just stood still and stared at my blood soaked hand ..you could barely see my hand and half arm for the blood.I think he was deciding whether he should do something or not but seeing i was with another neighbour he thought i would be ok.

After 20 minutes still bleeding profusely,i was close to going to the walk in centre to get it bandaged and i decided to give it another 5 minutes and see.
The bleeding did stop and finally i could see the cut-quite deep and two inches in length.I drove to the shop to buy antiseptic wipes and plasters.
I'll see how it heals over the next couple of days but it's a biggie and it may need glueing.

I cannot use my thumb at all[Tricky using the computer mouse!]--funny how you take little things for granted.
