They do look real and they might even be real - but this guy shows just how easy it is to fake such things.
With regard to CCTV cameras, it doesn't actually show here, but there are apparently all sorts of aps and equipment that you can get to easily make what looks to be a genuine CCTV video, even sticking on authentic-looking
continuous time stamps, etc - all of which can be very simply created from a mobile phone.

I know that it's easy to fake videos, my question is why would anyone want to? What do they get out of doing it?

You'd have to ask the fakers that question..... I've all-but-given-up trying to understand how human nature operates, why some individuals lie, cheat and deceive. I just accept that they may, they will and they do.
