"Hi ya, dude. Yeah, Im just chillin'."
"Are we surplus to requirements, then, or are you just monkeying around?"

Feather - I've just noticed there are more in the series of 'Simon's Cat' (and there's a Simon's sister's dog as well).
When the clip finishes, look down at the bottom of the video and you will see the little boxes - just click into one of them. They are absolutely hilarous!

Read recently that a Brazilian put his electronic bracelet round the neck of his male hen (can't put the proper word or it'll be censored, lol) to pretend he was still at home respecting his curfew.
Also, three men were stopped by police and found to have a stolen dog and twelve hedgehogs in their van, destined for the soup pot!
I didn't even know hedgehogs were edible.

Some people will eat anything, Stardust. You just have to watch "I'm a celebrity. Get me out of here" to learn this.

There are few animals that can't be eaten although just one of some of them wouldn't make much of a mouthful! We may think that the cute ones shouldn't be eaten but others might disagree. We may find repulsive the killing of certain wild animals for food - 'bush meat' - but folk who have little other meat don't see it our way.
We should remember, perhaps, that all animals were once wild...

There are thousands of humans who are not fit to be called animals. It would be a huge, unfair insult to animals.

Came across an empty space of land the other day, reclaimed by the grass while waiting for construction sometime in the future, and what did I see? Some sort of buffalo (sharp pointed horns, wouldn't want to get too close), two ponies, and three camels (watch out there, they can spit!). It was an absolute delight because you don't expect that when you're walking along the street. Turns out there was a circus. Won't get into a debate because I don't agree with animals being driven around in lorries to be shown in circus shows, and in fact I thought there was a new law about it, but perhaps these particular animals are still allowed. Anyway I really loved seeing them outside like that and really close up, I love animals and I don't see this exotic kind very often. I must say they looked perfectly happy, relaxed and well looked after. That's something.

You must have thought you were dreaming Stardust! Good to see they all appeared happy and relaxed and well looked after.
Different countries have different laws about animals in circuses.
I don't understand how that works. One law should cover all.

- In Europe, there are thought to be over 1000 travelling circuses with wild animals
- 15 EU Member States have introduced restrictions on the use of animals in circuses
- Circuses keep many of the same species as zoos, yet are not necessarily required to meet the same standards
- There have been numerous incidences of animals escaping from their enclosures or during street parades, injuring or killing people and damaging property
- Records indicate that there are approximately 113 elephants in circuses, 20 of which are kept on their own
- England has committed to introducing a ban on wild animals in circuses to be implemented on 1st December 2015, whilst Scotland and Wales are currently considering options in this area
- A ban on wild animals in circuses in Austria was subject to legal challenge. The challenge failed and the ban remains in force
- In a poll of Members of the European Parliament (2013), undertaken by Parliament Magazine, MEPs were were broadly in favour of a ban to prevent wild animals performing in circuses (PM Polling 2013)

Thanks for all that information, Misty.
The circus left a while back. I was out walking when they passed me in their lorries and caravans hooting their horns all the way along the road, brought quite a lump to my throat.
So long, circus.

Next time you're in Florida and decide to play a round of golf, don't look over your shoulder... there may be an alligator creeping up behind you.
That's what happens when their natural habitat is taken over by people to build housing or, worse, golf courses. These alligators are roaming on what was their own homeland and it angers me that some people do this without a thought for the wild animals who were there first. Then they complain and often kill the poor creatures who are only feeding or going about their lives as usual on what they rightly consider their own territory.
Why do some humans think they have priority over other species and can just take what they want all the time?

A lovely story about a little stray dog who followed Scottish runner Leonard Dion over 77 of the 155 miles in the Gobi desert race in China. They got so attached to one another that he raised the money to take her home to Edinburgh where she should eventually join him around Christmas time.

Lots of crows about this year. I like when they fly past and turn their heads to look at me if I'm standing at the open window, cheeky birds. Perhaps they're looking to see if I have anything for them to eat.

'I faced death, now I care for 90 animals'
Despite living with illness herself, Alexis Fleming set up an animal hospice after her pet dog died.
