You lucky ones off to Muncaster! It looks divine, lovely scenery, trains pulled by steam engines,
over 200 owls in the World Owl Centre (you can even 'adopt' one for £30), and lots more.

Hi Feather, you've very welcome, I enjoyed looking it up and it would be nice to go along but I don't think I'd risk going into the castle after nightfall. Creepy! If I came face to face with old Tom I'd probably give up my own ghost immediately.  Shocked  I love the owls though.

I'm taking my camera so we'll get some pictures -and of the owls too!

30 quid to adopt one,hmmmm- to adopt a sceptic is free and i think we get to bring it home.

Well, I hope so too, Feather.  lol   I will be getting the train up to a station near lar-lar where (hopefully) she will meet me off the train in her car, and we will be driving the rest of the way - a long journey, but I imagine quite a beautiful, interesting, scenic one. The original idea was that we would both take turns with the driving, but (not long since the op) driving at the moment for me is a little bit awkward. I'm hoping I will have overcome this particular drawback by then. Have to take each day as it comes and see how things pan out.

I imagine whatever we're wearing we're all going to be a bit 'crumpled' anyway, considering the journey involved. Anyway, they're just going to have to take us as we are. Muncaster Icon_razz

We had an ab fab time, Misty.  very happy

Our bedroom window looked right out over the owl enclosure. We could hear their eerie hoots and woos (lol) all through the night.
When I woke up in the morning and opened the curtain, I was greeted by one of the beautiful creatures staring right at me .. and winking.
