Could it have something to do with this?

SNU bans Eric Hatton’s book

In a move that has left many of its loyal members outraged, the Spiritualists’ National Union (SNU) has made the astonishing decision to ban the autobiography of its own honorary president from sale at the Arthur Findlay College (AFC).

Eric Hatton’s long awaited book, Taking up the Challenge, was published in December 2010, in response to requests made over many years by Spiritualists and others who wanted him to set down a permanent record of his extraordinary life at the heart of Spiritualism.

Yes, the SNU's decision to ban Eric Hatton's book has caused uproar within the spiritualist community, that and a lot of other recent controversial actions - as you can see from the long list of comments attached to that article.

I have ordered my copy of the book, 'Taking up the Challenge'.  I wonder if some of the answers to all this controversy lie within.

Well, the May issue was taken up solely with the controversial banning of Eric Hatton's book and elicited more comments and discussion from readers than any of the issues so far. Of course, if you read through the comments attached to the Statement you will see that in the light of all this discussion, the SNU have now decided to call of the ban of the book 'Taking up the Challenge' and it is now back on the bookshelves of the Arthur Findlay College.

The June issue of Spirit of PN should be out soon. I'm looking forward to my regular read.

There's no May or June issue to read here. Has Spirit of PN stopped publishing now?

I like the latest changes to the forum style by the way. My name has gone a pretty lilac colour now.

Hi Misty.  Nice to see someone is still reading in this forum.   😁

The May issue was all about the ban of Eric Hatton's book - which has now been retracted, btw ... and no, I haven't seen a June issue yet.  They usually come out round about the beginning of the month, so not sure if there's going to be one at all this month.  They certainly haven't stopped publishing altogether.  As soon as I hear more, I will post it up here.

Glad you like it.   😁  Your name shows in lilac (or mauve) now because you are now a VIP Member, having reached 100 posts on the board.  If and when you get to 500 it will automatically change again as you will be a Gold Member and your name will change to orange - the nearest to gold I could find!   Mr. Green
