Ha! It's like guestbooks in museums. I always love to see what witty or wise (or both) things people have written, but I can never think of much to put in myself.
I used to have that problem with friends' autograph books at school too. I wonder if children still do that at the end of the school year?

Well, I put a message in, but I can't see it in there.
Maybe it's gone travelling in the ether...
and I didn't keep a copy.

I think Feather is now hatching her own entry in the Guest Book.
Great minds think alike, Feather (well, yours is great, mine is half snoozing at the moment ).

Candlelight, Candlelight, thank you so much
For creating this site with your tender touch.
In this haven, called "Light after Life",
There is no trouble, there is no strife.
Restful, relaxing and full of good cheer,
Wisdom and Love is what we find here.
Consideration and helpful advice
Are offered a-plenty in this Paradise.
Loved for its caring, its humour, its grace,
Nowhere else can we find such a beautiful place.

I'm so happy to be a small part of your wonderful
creation, Candlelight. Thank you. Feather.xxx.

I suspect my entry is not in the right thread. If so, please move it, Candlelight.

Wow, Feather, you certainly found inspiration.

You can copy and paste it in the Guest Book (Portal page, click on Guest Book, fill in your name then add the message and submit).

Like Goldilocks, we find comfort in the home of the three bears:
SpiRea is Daddy bear
Spiritlove is Mummy bear
and Light After Life is Baby bear.

I think I'm going to change the "Rank this website" option .. to obligatory.
so that people won't be able to duck out of that part when they sign in the book in future.

Is there any way of seeing if anyone has put a new entry into the Guest Book without actually clicking and going inside?

I get an email notifying me when a new message has been entered, tells me the name of the person that has entered and a link to click in to the Guestbook to view.  That's because I have entered my email address in there requesting this.  There is facility to add other email addresses to get notifications, so if you would like to privately let me know your email address, I can set it up for you.  Otherwise, you will need to click in each time to check.

No matter, Candlelight, it's just that whenever I click on the Guest Book to see if there's anything new it adds to the number of visits and that might give you a false impression with regard to the actual number of visitors.

I already have to unsubscribe to threads and posts whenever I add something, otherwise I get an e-mail if somebody posts after me. Before, it was enough to request no e-mails (except from admin) in my profile, but now if I do that I still get automatically resubscribed when I post. So I have to remember to click unsubscribe every time, but it's not much bother. I just wondered if you knew the system now does this, Candlelight?

That is the default set centrally by the board, Stardust.  If you wish not to receive email notifications, you can de-select this facility in your own Control Panel - under Preferences (or Board Preferences), you should find a box to untick - also there should be a box to select or de-select 'notify me by default'.  Just untick those boxes - and don't forget to 'save changes' at the bottom before you come out of your Control Panel.

I hope that helps.

Good morning, Candlelight.
I kept clicking in 'Manage Subscriptions' in my profile and 'unsubscribe' in the threads..
Now I've clicked in the "Edit Posting Defaults" and hopefully that will stop the e-mails.
Thanks for your help.
