    I hummed and hawed whether to subscribe again to PN but the more I see of what's featured the more certain I am that I made the right choice not to!

    There is a nice piece on Maurice Barbanell and Hannen Swaffer that you might be interested in though - and that's in the free area, so you don't need to have a subscription to see it; you can read it HERE.

    Thanks for the link,kk.  That was a lovely piece about Maurice Barbanell.  How different was that world compared with ours today.  Modern Spiritualism isn't what it once was at the height of its popularity.  Now PN doesn't mention Spiritualism prominently on its cover and MBS are the dominant aspects.  Ah well, what's it matter, eh?  I'm just pleased I was privileged to know PN and Spiritualism before both sailed into the doldrums.

    I tried to see what was under discussion on the forum pages but it's members only now so I couldn't.  in the past as you know there's been little discussion interest and a lot of Spam, something I regularly reported as the pages weren't moderated.

    All of that is what I'd seen myself, (other than being able to log in as a member) including the indicated new postings recently this month - it was those I had wondered about, wondered who'd been writing about the subjects about which I used to contribute - I was RVer on my last subscription, incidentally, and not 'mac'....

    I did make a new posting after the announcement of the closure of the forums section. I can't remember the date exactly but it could have been summer last year. I'd largely lost interest although I was still a subscriber and used my log in to reach the forums. There was a bunch of spam still to be found under various forum headings, the stuff I think I'd told Magnus about, that spam leading - I'm guessing - to his abandonment of the forums. Although I made my last posting there wasn't any response and I just figured the odd individual who used to contribute had given up.

    The forums were usually poorly attended, something that always disappointed me because if folk weren't discussing spiritual issues, and particularly Spiritualism, on PN's forums I couldn't see what was left to be discussed anywhere. I took a look at PN's Facebook's pages (via my wife's account) but it seemed just to be adverts for the publication on the odd occasion when I could be bothered to look. Yet I still consider my self a dyed-in-the-wool Spiritualist, not someone half-hearted or cynical about the movement, philosophy and religion.....

    A very belated response! Now a subscriber I have just read the full edition of Psychic News and particularly enjoyed re-reading the piece I read earier (link courtesy of kk) about the history of PN and its editors and supporters.
