Psychic Views - new monthly Spiritualist magazine

It is my great pleasure to bring you the first edition of our new monthly magazine, The Psychic Views. I feel very passionate about this, because it is something which featured strongly in my own early days as a developing medium to have an on-hand source of information from the world of Spiritualism and all things Para-normal.

Back then my only connection to the world of spiritualism was the weekly spiritualist paper, The Psychic News which gave us a chance to read about other mediums and psychics, the good work they were doing around the country and in some cases around the world; to read about the great exponents of the past and also have a chance to air your views and receive answers regarding your own psychic and spiritual occurrences.

I believe it is important for all of us who are involved in mediumship to keep a connection to what is going on in the spiritual world; share with others what we are learning from spirit in our circles and help those who need to find direction on their spiritual path. This is why I decided that I should gather a team of willing people who wanted to pass the word as much as I do myself and keep the channels open to those seekers of knowledge.

Mediumship is very special and it is our duty to protect it and give it the respect it deserves in a day when there are so many cynics and sceptics out there waiting to demean the good work that we do and throw doubt at the knowledge we have gained from the world of spirit over so many years.

This is to be an information based magazine, as I am aware of how many questions people have about the world of mediums and psychics. And, we will keep alive the teachings of the great pioneers of mediumship, by bringing you accounts of some of the most amazing individuals and the work they did which was truly beyond belief.

Mary Armour, a medium and teacher for over thirty years has gathered so much information on the pioneers of mediumship and spiritualism, will bring to you a history of physical and trance mediumship; from the very outset of spiritualism to the most recent of séances happening today. She is one of our team who has spent her life collecting knowledge and building evidence through her research into physical phenomena in both the science lab and the séance room.

Each month Mary will share her findings, thoughts and beliefs with the reader, which over a course of time will grow into an important document of information which will allow the modern day seeker a connection to the very seed which grew into the mediumship we have in the current day.

Also, we have the experience of Psychical researcher Tricia Robertson who will teach us about the science behind the subject, highlighting some of the serious investigators who for years have dedicated their lives to find proof of mediumship by controlled scientific methods. Her own work in this field has stretched over many years and her understanding of the subject is second to none.

One of my rolls in the magazine will be to encourage the students to further their own development and try to give clear guidance and teaching on a monthly basis, based on the way I have been taught by spirit over the past twenty five years; this type of mediumship which at its best serves a purpose in healing the bereaved and opening up the mind to the truth of life after death. And, like Mary, I will structure the work to become a tool for development for any student who wishes to expand their practice and knowledge.

The Psychic Views will be a great vehicle to carry the message of spirit into the future for all who seek higher knowledge and understanding of consciousness and how to expand it. I sincerely hope you will all try to contribute by sharing your experiences with us, telling us your thoughts and making your point of view known to us that we can all benefit from one and others’ understands.

Once again it gives me pleasure to bring you this month’s offering from all at Psychic Views. It is good to get back into the spiritual work and already I have travelled across Europe to give teachings on developing mediumship which has been greatly received by our students. It is becoming more apparent that so many people want to develop a link to the spirit world and create their own spiritual circles to learn in.

Recently, Steven Levett and I visited Switzerland where we had more than fifty students attend our teaching session about building a stronger link with the spirit. It was so good to witness how many of these eager students were more interested in the circle work than becoming mediums. This is very pleasing to me as it is so important for all of us to build groups and circles where we can learn more about the teachings and presence of the spirit world.

It has always been my belief that good mediums come from good dedicated circles and now I am fascinated by the response to the teachings and exercises we have put together to help people to achieve just that. I used to become quite disheartened to watch a workshop full of people who all wanted to be platform mediums and so many had no regard for the more spiritual side of our work and for the practice of sitting in circle. Sadly, many of the students who craved the platform so much seemed to fall by the wayside; it is unfortunate not to have heard that their enthusiasm was longer lasting and lead them to their desired goal.

However, something is changing in the world of spiritual development and as much as we will always have mediums on the public platform and they are always much needed as this type of mediumship is the shop window for the spirit teachings. Even so, more and more we are finding that those who recognise that they will never be in that shop window are still very keen to develop a link to the spirit world and learn more of what the teachings and experiences of sitting in circle has to offer.

I feel that this is going to be an exciting year for all of us on the spiritual path and one that will see more people look to the higher teaching and want to delve deeper into them; maybe because there always seems to be so much bad news in the material world and such a lot of despair around us that more are looking for hope and solutions through spiritual practices.

The great feeling of joy and upliftment which was felt by all of us in Switzerland this month reminded me that no matter what is happening around us in the world that we can always find strength and hope in spirit.
